Clockwise from top left: Dad showcasing his catch, Angaur in the 70s; Mom and dad at a Coast Guard event in Hawaii in the 80s; Dad with more fish on the roof of his friend’s car in Angaur in the 70s; Mom in her 20s drinking a rootbeer in Angaur in the 70s; The whole family in Connecticut in the 80s — brothers Jeff and Stewart, me (in the middle), and baby sister Isis.

My family’s story is a familiar one to those in the military. My mother, born and raised in a beautiful Pacific island in Micronesia met a young American military man whose first assignment brought him to her homeland.

This is a love story that began over 40 years ago... Throughout that time my brothers, sister, and I were raised with two cultures, the Micronesian culture and the American culture. Because of that we were lucky to know the beauty of both worlds, traditions, foods, and life.

I created 680 Foods with the goal to share a part of our world with you. It is the culmination of family and food.

680 is the country code of our island home and that is where our first product, Olokoi, originates from. We will continue to explore the culinary flavors of surrounding islands including how our influence has found its way into modern-day dining. Our mission is to bring those exotic flavors within reach of your home and during your next restaurant visit.

Sincerely,

Julie
