Green beans with Olokoi

This summer my green beans are growing like crazy, so that means I gotta lot to cook. This is my version of the green beans from one of my favorite restaurants called Capital Noodle in Costa Mesa, California. The beans are served with a lot of garlic, which I will never complain about. Here is my take, using Olokoi.

Ingredients

  • 1lb green beans
  • 2 tsp low sodium soy sauce
  • 1 tsp oyster sauce
  • 2 tbl Olokoi sauce (hot or mild)
  • 2 tsp sugar
  • 3 tbl white wine vinegar
  • 2 tbl vegetable oil
  • 6 cloves of garlic
  • 1 inch fresh ginger
  • 1 large shallot
  • Sesame oil  and sesame seeds (optional)

Directions

  1. Trim green beans
  2. In a bowl, mix the soy sauce, oyster sauce, Olokoi, and sugar, set aside
  3. Finely chop all vegetable and set aside
  4. Heat up skillet, add oil
  5. Add the vegetables and cook until brown and soft
  6. Add the green beans and cook for several minutes, but dont over cook the beans
  7. Deglaze with the vinegar
  8. Add the sauce mixture
  9. Plate and drizzle with some sesame oil and sesame seeds
