Vegan gyoza and Olokoi

My daughter is plant based and I love making vegan or vegetarian dishes for her, because it’s not only healthy, but also expands my recipes that we have on rotation.

This recipe is packed with protein and is absolutely delicious and easy to make. But of course, it’s perfect with Olokoi!

Ingredients

  • Gyoza
  • 2 cups finely chopped cabbage
  • 2 garlic cloves - grated
  • 2 tsp ginger - grated
  • 2 tbl soy sauce
  • 2 tsp sesame oil
  • 2 tsp corn starch
  • 1 package firm tofu

Directions

  1. In a bowl, combine all ingredients and mix with your hands.
  2. Grab 1 gyoza or wonton wrapper.
  3. Place approximately 1 tsp of the mixture in the center of the wrapper.
  4. Use your finger to wet one side of the wrapper.
  5. Crimp the other side and press to close.
  6. In a skillet, add a bit of oil and bring to the heat to medium high. Add dumpling and allow the bottom to sear and get crispy.
  7. Once crispy, add about 1/4 cup of water, and then place the lid on the skillet. Allow to steam for 4 minutes.
  8. In a bowl, pour some Olokoi sauce and enjoy!
